<description>I think the way you structured your criteria for a VLE is very clear. To split the words virtual and learning environment you that this are the crucial parts. Maybe you could also discuss the word environment....!?

The model you present from Doring is very interesting...! But i have some questions:
1. When there is a disbalance between learners in their ability to cope with different kind of media, the model will be more orientated on the person. Do you think it'salways possible to have such an individual orientated environment..?

2. "The features of the medium". Is this comparable with meduim features of Reinmann-Rothmeier (distribution, interaction and collaboration). If not what's the distinction...!?

3. You write that asynchronous CMC is in genaral a text-based communication. In my opninion all medium types are possible...(video, audio, multi-media etc...). Interaction is also not neccessary with this media-types.

Your explanation of teaching methods is a little bit short. I think it's also important to mention something about pedagogical methods as behaviorism, constructive learning or about connectivity (gearge Siemens.

I like your contribution applied to the project site panopticon.ferngespraech.net. In my opinion this sides contributes a lot for distribution and interaction (expicit use). The more implicit use implies collaboration.

see you in Helsinki...!
